Drum circles are a fun and goofy way to get out of your comfort zone, try something new, and connect with one another on a whole new level.

Mental Health drum circle

Outrun the Stigma is hosting its third in a series of Mental Health and Story Sharing workshops! The Zoe from the Faith and Spirituality Centre at the University of Calgary will guide participants through a mental health themed drum circle to encourage mental wellness through connection with music.

The drum circle will start with a quick drum lesson, then we will play games, learn rhythms, and explore topics through the drum such as finding your inner rhythm, building a foundation for your life, and dealing with peer pressure. There will be a chance to share your stories/experiences with others throughout the circle. We will end with some time to jam and create music together in a fun and supportive environment. No musical ability or drum experience necessary, and drums are provided
